PARDEP-Nepal deliberately directs its programs toward historically marginalized populations who experience the deepest socioeconomic disparities:
- Rural poor and marginalized subsistence farming households
- Dalit and socially excluded communities
- Indigenous and ethnic minority populations
- Women-headed households and vulnerable female community members
- Children, youth, and persons with disabilities in remote settlements
Methodology
Rights-Based Working Approach
PARDEP-Nepal adopts a participatory, rights-based, pro-poor approach founded on the conviction that every human being holds inherent rights and that state institutions have binding duties to respect, protect, and fulfill those rights.
Our programmatic execution operates across two mutually reinforcing pillars:
Integrated Community Projects
Direct implementation of participatory development and action-oriented field projects focused on the poorest and most vulnerable rural groups, including Indigenous and Dalit settlements.
Research & Policy Advocacy
Raising civic awareness, documenting grassroots evidence, and advocating for pro-poor policy reforms on social, economic, cultural, and development rights.
Cross-Cutting Theme: Gender Equity & Social Inclusion
Gender awareness and transformative social inclusion are integrated across every project cycle. PARDEP-Nepal supports community workers, women leaders, and local institutions to challenge entrenched discrimination and foster equitable power-sharing at household and community levels.
