About PARDEP-Nepal

PARDEP-Nepal is a non-profit, non-political, non-governmental organization registered with the District Administrative Office, Dhankuta, and affiliated with the Social Welfare Council. It was established in 1995 by committed and professional youth from different districts to promote inclusive rural development through a human-rights-based approach.

PARDEP-Nepal has worked in municipalities and rural municipalities of Dhankuta, Bhojpur, Tehrathum and Sankhuwasabha in income generation, health and sanitation, drinking water, literacy and awareness, governance, peace and development, women empowerment, gender equity and training.

Vision

PARDEP-Nepal envisages a society that is economically self-reliant and equitable, morally civilized, socially just, environmentally sound and genuinely democratic.

Mission

PARDEP-Nepal conducts extensive, intensive and participatory processes for equitable and sustainable development through the empowerment of poor and disadvantaged people and women.

Goal

PARDEP-Nepal aims to improve the quality of life of poor and disadvantaged people and women.

Core values

Respect for human dignity is central to PARDEP-Nepal. Its guiding principles are democratic and participatory practice, delegation of authority, discipline, responsibility and accountability, openness, truthfulness and empathy.

Build awareness of rights, duties and responsibilities.
Support people to join mainstream development and poverty-reduction efforts through social mobilization.
Empower and build the capacity of women and rural poor people to participate in development.
Advocate and lobby for peace, governance and social justice.
Study and publish reading materials on social change and development.
